Structural Survey of Settlement Damage to Buildings <br />Page 3 <br />The basement concrete slab had major cracks indicating significant <br />settlement especially the western section and the resultant floor slope is <br />to the northwest corner. Significant cracks were observed over office doors <br />located in the basement. The west wall steel beam lintel over windows and <br />doors is separated from masonry above due to settlement of northwest <br />supporting column. <br />On December 20th the west exterior wall was observea again and it was noted <br />that the column support at the north Side has Settled further and the steel <br />support team had oaflectea to cause a 2 incn + gap under the masonry. <br />Windows above are bowing out due t0 compression. <br />Buildina at 2819 Rucker - This building was constructed with 10 inch wide <br />brick masonry walls on top of poured concrete walls. All floor and roof <br />framing is of wood. West window wall on Rucker is set in brick masonry. <br />Recent cracking of concrete wall was noted at the north wall of the building <br />over the work bench area. At the east entrance new significant cracks were <br />observed at the doorway and in the retaining wall 12 inches below alley <br />grade. At the alley side, new exterior wall cracks can be seen at the <br />adjacent building wall intersections with separation of slab from wall <br />indicating recent settlement. <br />
