of <br />rat <br />Structural Survey of Settlement Damage to Buildings <br />Page 5 <br />r.., <br />The 2818 Hoyt building suffered serious damage to the south and west walls <br />and is a hazard to occupants. This building should not be occupied and the <br />area adjacent to the south wall and west wall should be barricaded off to <br />prevent people from entering this Ganger area in event the wall collapsed. <br />The collapse of the south wall could be caused by buckling of the masonry or <br />the wall pulling away from floor and roof framing and if these dropped this <br />would probably result in both north and south walls collapsing which would <br />also cause the west wall to collapse. <br />To support the south wall against collapse a snoring system should be <br />installed. A shoring system for the south wall was designed and submitted <br />to the City. (See enclosed sketch) <br />The 2822 Hoyt building likew:f was severely damaged by ground subsidence. <br />The most severe was the west !I which could fail at any time. The steel <br />7� header beam over doors and openings is bending beyond its design capacity. <br />C�T-41br Windows above show bulging due to compression from settlement of masonry <br />P,'13Igo� Patewail and could shatter at any time. This building should not be <br />n occupied and the area back of the west wall should be barricaded to prevent <br />public access. <br />i� Generally the buildings at 2818, 2821 and 2822 Rucker snow significant <br />distress due to ground settlement but at this time do not indicate a <br />I <br />
