CITY OF EVERETT <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />OCTOBER 7, 1985 <br />MINUTES <br />............. <br />CITY OF EVERETT <br />Pubic Works Dept <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., by Chairman Ross Hoagland. Also <br />in attendance were Marie Sullivan and Everett Miller. Frank Bennett and <br />Ramona Boylan were absent. <br />ITEM 1: <br />Applicant: John Clairborne <br />3416 Federal Avenue <br />Everett,, WA 98201 <br />Variance Request: To build an addition over existing structure that <br />would be 7 feet from rear property line. <br />Location of Property: 3416 Yederal <br />Zoning: R-1, Single Family Low Density Residential <br />Mr. Hoagland stated a letter had been received regarding this application from <br />Virginia Miller, 3412 Federal, requesting assurance that the addition would <br />not be used for rental of housekeeping rooms. <br />Don Wood of the Planning Staff summarized the staff report which recommends <br />approval. He also stated that lodging was a permitted use in the R-1 zone and <br />so could not be prohibited. <br />John Clairborne, the applicant, stated that he had no plans to take in <br />boarders and the addition was for his family only. <br />Virginia Miller, 3412 Federal, stated Mr. Clairborne had satisfied her <br />concerns and she also read her letter to the board. <br />Motion: Mr. Miller moved to grant approval per the staff recommendation.
