'Those <br /> present were Tanis Marsh, �tarion M,�Carley, John Friel, and Ben Newland. i'hose <br /> absent were Earl Person, Jim Geniesse, and Bob Hummel. (8ob Hummel arrived <br /> later.) <br /> �ennis Gregoire used slides to show the history of Everett's waterf:cnt, and <br /> described the plan for a marina development (to be called Everett Marina Village) in <br /> the area of 16th and 17th Streets if these extended westerly from Norton Avenue. <br /> Plans for the Marina began in 1972. The proposal is an L-shaped configuration <br /> (consisting of 40,000 sq. ft.) alone the shoreline with plans for restaurants, shops, <br /> etc. to lease buildings. (Anthory's Home Port is one restaurant proposing to lease a <br /> building in the Marina.) Also, there is a bike path around the area, completed in <br /> 1980. <br /> Dennis stated that concerns and conments of the Commission will be passed �n to <br /> the deveiopers of the site. <br /> Harry Winder, of the Port of E��arett, added that the Port is working with the <br /> developer and the Commission to insure developmental quality in the marina. <br /> Tanis stated that the walkway is now 10' wide and suggested that it be widened in <br /> the future with benches and greenery added, as it should be a special place for <br /> visitors to walk, enjoy the the view, and sit and rest. <br /> Steve Burr, Port Gardner Neighborhood, added ttiat people who don't own boats or <br /> _ can't afford to eat at Anthony's should still have access to the waterfront. <br /> Chuck Moser, Riverside Neighborheod, stated that the cement slabs described on <br /> page 12A No. 3 are probably not thick enough. <br /> Discussion followed on the need for Everett to have a public pdace to fish along the <br /> shoreline, with a washdown area, etc. <br /> Tanis summarized that the Commission's concerns centered on having a quality <br /> iNarina wit5 a theme of sor:ie kind, and maintaining visual contact with the <br /> waterfront by improving the walkways (widening, greenery, and ben� �es). <br /> She also added that Everett needs a public place to fish along the waterfront with a <br /> washdown area, etc. <br /> (Bob Humrr�el arrived at 8:00 PM.) <br />
