, Planning Commission Minutes <br /> ��iarch 8, 1983 <br /> • Page -2- <br /> Gary Doughty handed out a tentative schedule for the next month, �and Tanis <br /> reminded staff that the Commissiun was not ready to make a, deci:,ion on Kenilworth <br /> on the 29th and :hat two more meetings are needed on this item. <br /> Bob Hummel asked about the completion of the PID Ordinanc•.. <br /> Dennis Derickson answered that staff has been required to process severa! <br /> annexations, which by State law must be processed within a certain time frame. <br /> l'herefore, the completion of the Ordinance had to be postponed. <br /> A recess was called at 8:20 PM by Chairman Tanis Marsh. <br /> Discussion Item 2 - Comp Flan Discussion <br /> Gary Doughty reviewed the new maps showing the neighborhoods by densities. <br /> He handed out a sheet titled "How the Densities were Determined" to the <br /> Commission and citizens which gives criteria under "Existing Developm�ent Pattern", <br /> "Long Range Planning Considerations", and "Neighborhood Identity and Community <br /> Concern". <br /> Gary also handed out a sheet of Yhe "Proposed Increased Density Areas", and <br /> "Proposed Decreased D2nsity Areas" wtiich shows 17 proposed increas�: density <br /> areas and 18 proposed decreased density areas. These are for comparative purpuses. <br /> Steve Burr, Port Gardner neighborhood, questioned the reasons behind der.rrmining <br /> these densities and stated that this handout should say why each area was analyzed <br /> ss it was. <br /> Discussion followed on the formula used to analyze the areas and their increases or <br /> decreases. <br /> Bob Hummel stated that he favors a plan that sharply defines iand uses and <br /> establishes appropriate zoning, and that we should have areas zoned properly and <br /> intermixed well with adjacent land uses. <br />
