Because the proposed waste storage pond will be located in the <br />floodplain of the Snohomish River, it wilf be required to be constructe� at <br />least two feet above the 10� foot flood elevation. The top and exterior <br />faces of the waste storage pond will be seeded in grass to minimize <br />erosion and to stabilize the dike. (Staff reporl) <br />14. The Appl�cant w:�l develop operational procedures to address any <br />potentiai spllls of manure or other substances into an adjacent creek, <br />south of the proposed waste storag� pond. As part of the de+ielopment of the waste storage pond, a landscaping <br />plan will be provided that will identify the short term soil stabilization <br />requirements during construction and �vill provide a maintenance plan for <br />the long term soil stabilization on the dike. None is recommended beca�se of t�1e <br />potential hazards of having the public around the lagoon and in an area <br />where heavy farm equipment is op�rating. (Staff report) <br />17. In addition to the general regulations, the specific use regulations for the <br />waste storage pcmd are required to be satisfied. The specific use <br />regulations are set forth on page 3 of th� Exhibit #1. (Staff report) <br />1 S. There is no tilling or grading activity proposed. The tipplicant is <br />proposing a 50 foot setback of the waste storage pond from Woods <br />Creek. (Staff report) <br />19. Soil erosion control methods for the waste storage pond will inclt��e a soil <br />liner with a minimum compacted thickness of one f�ot measured <br />perpendicular tu the soil surface.
