AUG-27-99 FRI 3:12 PM _ <br />All 125-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20- ampere receptacles installed in the locations <br />specified below shall have ground -fault circuit -interrupter protection for personnel.... <br />(6) Kitchens. Where the receptacles are installed to serve the countertop surfaces <br />6) Ampacity of conductors inadequate for the load in the circuit and si7e of circuit protective <br />devices per NEC 210-19(a). 'One of the 30 amp circuits has receptacles, lighting and resistance <br />heating all combined in the same circuit using wire as small as 14 ga. When the heating is being <br />used the capacity of the 30 amp circuit protective device is frequently exceeded, <br />Branch -circuit conductors shall have an ampacity not less than the maximum load to be <br />served. <br />7) Receptacles, have,an.ampere rating below the rating of the circuit. 15 amp receptacles are <br />installed in a 30 amp circuit. The NEC 210-21(b)(1) requires: <br />A single receptacle installed on an individual branch circuit shall have an ampere rating <br />of not less than that of the branch circuit. <br />8) Wiring .violates NEC 210-25. 'Not only are individual branch circuits used by both dwelling <br />units, but only tenants of one of the 2 units have access to the panelboard- <br />Common Area Branch Circuits. Branch circuits in dwelling units shall supply only loads <br />within that dwelling unit or loads associated only with that dwelling unit Branch circuits <br />required for the purpose of lighting .... or other needs for public or common areas of a <br />two-family or multifamily dwelling shall not be supplied from equipment that supplies an <br />individual dwelling unit. <br />9) Installation of receptacles is not fully compliant with NEC 210-52(a)(2) and 210-52(c). - <br />10) Circuit panel is accessible to only one of the 2 units in the building.'
