WASHINGTON <br />everett <br />m <br />The following is a list of deficiencies of the Uniform Housing <br />Code, which are required to be corrected, together with a list <br />of additional deficiencies of the Uniform Building Code, which <br />should be corrected, that were detected during our inspection of <br />the above referenced dwelling on May 15, 1975. <br />Uniform Housing Code. <br />1. General <br />la. Attic area appears to have been finished and wired <br />for use as livable space. There is insufficient <br />ceiling height, section 503(a), inadequate <br />ventilation and natural light, inadequate exit <br />facilities, Section 6001(a). There is no record <br />of a Building Permit being issued to convert <br />the attic to livable space. There is record of <br />an electrical permit Number 8210 issued November <br />6, 1970, to Jubie Electric to install two new <br />circuits. All new wiring in the attic area should <br />be removed as to insure no occupancy of this area. <br />lb. Non complying stairs have been constructed, leading <br />to the attic, Section 504(d). It is recommended <br />that these stairs be removed and a cover installed <br />at the attic. <br />lc. Some minor deterioration of exterior trim. Section <br />1001(c). <br />ld. The front porch and front and rear stairs are deter- <br />iorated, Section. 1001(c)2. <br />2. Plumbing Section 1001(f) <br />2a. Strainer to trap connection leaks. <br />2b. Cross connection in toilet water tank. Replace <br />existing ball cock with anti siphon ball cock. <br />2c. There exists a hole in the base of the 4 inch <br />vent stack. <br />3. Wiring Section 1001(e <br />3a. Wising from panel within 48 inches of the floor <br />and wiring passing thru the floor is exposed. This <br />wiring must be either concealed in the wall or <br />protected with rigid conduit as set forth in <br />Section 300-4 of the electrical code. <br />3b. Dryer lead is improperly installed. Lead must be <br />protected and terminate in a metal box. As set <br />forth in the electrical code. <br />
