WASHIIIOTON <br />home Care Inc. 98I0I <br />411 ,Test Mercer Street INSPECTION DEPARTMENT <br />Seattle, Washington 98119 <br />Reference: Dwelling Inspection <br />240E Highland <br />Gentlemen: <br />At your request, a re -inspection of the above referenced <br />dwelling was conducted on May 15, 1975. <br />The following is a list of deficiencies of the Uniform Housing <br />Code, which are required '.o be corrected, together with a list <br />of additional deficiencies of the Uniform Building Code, which <br />should be corrected. <br />Uniform Iiousing Code. Ir <br />1. General <br />la. Attic area appears to have been finished and wired <br />for use as livable space There is insufficient <br />ceiling height, Section 503(a), indadequate <br />ventilation and natural light, inadequate exit <br />facilities, Section 6001(a). There is not a record <br />of a Building Permit being issued to convert the <br />attic to livable space, nor will one be issued. <br />Please be advised that it is illegal to occupy this <br />area as livable space and the city will not permit <br />such occupancy until this area is made to comply <br />with all the nrovisions of the code. <br />lb. Non complying sLairs have been constricted, leading <br />to the attic, Section 504(d). These stairs are to <br />be removed and cover installed at the attic. <br />lc.
