� � Memo to Jim Iles I October 31r 1984 ` Re: 252fi East Grar.d , On April 21 , 1982 t sent a letter to Mr. McKee advising f�im that work on th�e structure kas not to be conducted without the required permits and that the st:ructure was not to be occupied for habitable reasons. I indicated that we had tried to cooperate with him in , every sense of the wcrd and we expected some ��ooperation from him in return. � Since then there have been meetings with i�r. McY,ee at which we have requested of him to F,erform certain functions such as obtaining ' building permits ard having inspections done of the work acconplished. The last meeting with Nr. I+cf:ee was in June of this year at which time he once more agreed to comply with our request to take out permits for at least the one unit that is occupied. It was requested that he have inspections made on the heating and plumbing systems. That way, if every�hing net �aith our requirements, we could authorize occupancy o� the u�it b�ing lived in. To this date Mr. McKee has not complied with any requests made by our department s�nce I initiated action in November of 1991 . I feel that we have given P1r. McKee more than enough time as well as latitude to conperate with us in this matter. I would like to proceed with abatement at this time but prior to doing so I wanted to let you know what has transpired so far. I:eeping in mind that this structure has historical significance to our city I would not like to see it demolished, but I wculd like the building unoccupied and secured until such time that Mr. McKee can comply with our requests and make the dwelling unit or units nabitable. - ' - i
