R E P O R T
FROM: Marian Payne, Housing Inspector /►(►
DATE: October 22, 1991 1j
RE: 2701 Grand Avenue
The following report lists violations noted during the inspection as
referenced by the Uniform House Code. Not all the violations are listed, as
it was difficult to know where to begin since the list for those things which
are OK would be much shorter than the list for every single item that was in
violation of the Code.
1. The occupancy of the house has been converted without going
through the required permit process.
2. Electrical service has been altered, spliced together with the
fuse box and breaker box with wires hanging unprotected from the
service.
3. The kitchen is unsanitary; appliances scattered around but
plugged in for use.
4. There is plumbing which can siphon gray water back into potable
water.
5. Electrical wires and extension cords hanging and strewn around
the interior and exterior of the building.
6. No fire separation between rooms or floors.
7. Holes in walls, floors and ceilings.
8. No light in second story hall or staircase.
9. There is no emergency exiting for the basement apartment.
10. There is no protection from the elements for the exterior of the
building.
11. The roof is rotted.
12. The chimney is deteriorated.
13. All sleeping rooms shall have one window meeting the requirements
of the Uniform Building Code for emergency egress.
14. All habitable rooms shall be supplied with an approved heating
system that is capable of maintaining a temperature of 73 degree
F. at a point of 2 feet above the floor.
