Explore the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions within the site with four <br />approximately 30-foot deep geotechnical borings using a portable drill rig. Drill rig to be <br />subcontracted by NGA. <br />3. Map the surficial conditions within and around the slide area. <br />4. Explore the near -surface soils within the slide vicinity using hand tools. <br />5. Explore and observe the conditions underneath the residences and in the vicinity. <br />6. Provide recommendations for temporary and permanent slope stabilization, including <br />recommendations for a permanent retaining wall. <br />7. Provide recommendations for site drainage and erosion control. <br />S. Provide a written report documenting our observations and recommendations for <br />permanent slide stabilization. <br />9. Provide additional consultation during the design phase of the permanent solution. <br />TERMS AND SCHEDULE <br />We are scheduled to perform the explorations at the site and on the slope on Wednesday, August 26, <br />2009, and will be on site at 8:00 am. We anticipate that our report will be completed by September 4, <br />2009. It is imperative that the permanent fix is designed and completed prior to the onset of winter. We <br />will work closely with the City, the contractors, and other design professionals to expediate this process. <br />The professional services listed above will be provided on a time and materials basis, in accordance with <br />our GENERAL CONDITIONS and our March 2008 STANDARD PEE SCHEDULE, copies of which are <br />attached to this agreement. We will only charge for the actual time spent working on the project. We <br />estimate our charges for the above scope of work (up to report completion) to be as follows: <br />Initial Site, Reconnaissance,,lob Set-up and Meetings: $1,500 <br />Field Work and Data Collection: <br />$2,000 <br />Subcontracted Driller: <br />S4,000 <br />Meetings, Phone Calls, and Consultation Services <br />(Up to Report Issuance) <br />S1,500 <br />Laboratory Analysis: <br />S1 j <br />Engineering/Data Reduction: <br />$2,J00 <br />Drafting and Staff Support <br />$1,000 <br />Report ]'reparation: <br />52 500 <br />TOTAL.
