Explore the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions within the site with four approximately 30-foot deep geotechnical borings using a portable drill rig. Drill rig to be subcontracted by NGA. 3. Map the surficial conditions within and around the slide area. 4. Explore the near -surface soils within the slide vicinity using hand tools. 5. Explore and observe the conditions underneath the residences and in the vicinity. 6. Provide recommendations for temporary and permanent slope stabilization, including recommendations for a permanent retaining wall. 7. Provide recommendations for site drainage and erosion control. S. Provide a written report documenting our observations and recommendations for permanent slide stabilization. 9. Provide additional consultation during the design phase of the permanent solution. TERMS AND SCHEDULE We are scheduled to perform the explorations at the site and on the slope on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, and will be on site at 8:00 am. We anticipate that our report will be completed by September 4, 2009. It is imperative that the permanent fix is designed and completed prior to the onset of winter. We will work closely with the City, the contractors, and other design professionals to expediate this process. The professional services listed above will be provided on a time and materials basis, in accordance with our GENERAL CONDITIONS and our March 2008 STANDARD PEE SCHEDULE, copies of which are attached to this agreement. We will only charge for the actual time spent working on the project.
