Intracorp
'September 21, 1998
. .,:
E-3592-720
Pape 3
No groundwater snepage was observed at any of our test pit locations, but the observed aoils
typicaliy became moist to wet at approximately four to five fee.*. below existiny yrade. In
addition, slight mottling and localized areas of iron oxide staining wre observed. Based on
proposed finished grades and upon observed site conditions wQ do not anticipate groundwater
seepage will be encountered in site excavations. However, the contractor should be aware
that groundwater levels are not static. Groundwater levels can be expected to fluctuate
significantly depending on the season, amount of rainfall, surface water runoff, and other
factors. Generally, the groundwater level is higher in the wetter winter months (typically
October through May). The contractor should be prepared to control groundwater if seepage
is encountered in site excavations
:..:.. m
Laboratory tests were conducted on several representative soil samples to verify or modify
the field soil classification and to evaivate the general physical properties and engineering
characteristics of the soil encountered. Visual classifications were supplemented by grain size
analyses an representative samples. Moisture content tests were performed on all samples.
The results of laboratory tests performed on specific samples are provided either at the
appropriate sample depth on the indi✓idual test pit logs or on a separate data sheet contained
in Appendix B. It is important to note that these test resuits may not accurately represent the
overall in-situ soil conditions. Our geotechnical recommendations are based on our
interpretation of these test results and their use in guiding our engineering judgement. ECI
cannot be responsible for the interpretation of these data by others.
In accordance with our Standard Fee Schedule and General Conditions, the soil samples for
this project will be discarded after a period of fifteen days following completion of this report,
unless we are otherwise directed in writing.
. •. , ' •uu _ •.
General
Based on the results of our study, it is our apinion the proposed buiidings can be constructed
generally as planned. Building support can be provided usng conventionai spread and
continuous footing foundation systems bearing on competent native soil, or on structural fill
used to modify site grades. Slab-on-grade floors may be similarly supported.
This report has been prepared for specific application to this project only and in a manner
consistent with that level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by other members of our
profession currently practicing under similar conditions in this area for the exclusive use of
Intracorp, and their representatives. No warranty, expressed or implied, is made. This report,
in its entirety, should be included in the project ontract documents for the information of the
contractor.
Euth Contuh.
