CASCADE GEOTECHNICAL INC.
June 2, 1994
Job No. 9405-02G
foot area building (Building B) will have a finished floor elevation of 590 feet. Building B will
be located within the site's northwestern and western portions.
It appears that cuts as high as twelve (12) feet will be required for the construction of the north
end of Building A. Placement of Building B will require cuts approaching sixteen (16) feet in
height at its northern corner. To alleviate high lateral earth loads on the concrete panel walls,
reinforced earth fills are proposed along the northeast portion of Building A.
4.0 SITE CONDITIONS
4.1 Surface Investigation
The approximately nine (9) acre roughly triangular site is located east of Hardeson Road between
Veralen Way Southwest and 75th Street Southwest in Everett, Washington. The site is bounded
on the north by undeveloped property and 75th Street Southwest. The site is bounded on the
south by Veralen Way Southwest and Hardeson Road. A tract of single-family residences
bounds the site on the east.
Standing water was noted during our visit at several locations within the site. These consisted
of swampy area along the site's southern property line and in the site's central and northeastern
portions. In addition, minor amounts of standing water were observed within an approximately
three (3) to four (4) foot deep and six (6) foot wide ditch located adjacent to Veralen Way
Southwest and Hardeson Road.
At the time of our visit, the site was heavily vegetated with groves of young deciduous trees,
occasional mature alders and fir, and heavy understory growth. The understory generally
consisted of thick vines and berry brambles.
The southern approximately two-thirds (2/3) portion of the site is nearly flat, with the ground
surface exhibiting a very slight south -facing slope. The northern portion of the site slopes very
gently to the south from a high point located near the northern property corner. This slope's
3
