Pedestrian Connections: <br />Intent: To create a network of safe and attractive linkages for pedestrians. <br />Guidelines: <br />Within parking lots clearly defined pedestrian connections should be provided: <br />Between a public right-of-way and building entrances, and between parking lots <br />and building entrances. Pedestrian connections can be counted toward the <br />amount of required landscaping. Pedestrian connections shall not be less than 5 <br />feet wide. Pedestrian connections shall be clearly defined by at least two of the <br />following: <br />1. A 6 inch vertical curb, <br />2. Textured paving, including across vehicular lanes, or <br />3. A continuous landscape area at a minimum of 3 feet wide on at least one <br />side of the walkway. <br />Roof top mechanical equipment: <br />Intent: To ensure that rooflines present a distinct profile and appearance to the <br />building and express the residential neighborhood character. <br />Guidelines: Mechanical and electrical equipment mounted on the roof shall be <br />organized, proportioned, detailed, landscaped (with decks or terraces) and <br />colored to be an integral element of the building. <br />19 <br />
