• SALTY SEA DAYS AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into on this t day of /)O cC'iv 200C)by and between the City of Everett, a municipal corporation under the laws of the State of Washington, hereinafter referred to as "City," and the Salty Sea Days Association, hereafter referred to as "Association." WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, Salty Sea Days and the Everett Fourth of July Fireworks Show have attracted thousands of new visitors into the City; and WHEREAS, the community can now enhance and expand its tourism development and visitor services; and WHEREAS, the economic well-being, stability and diversification of the City is dependent upon the growth, development and enhancement of the tourist, hospitality, recreation and entertainment industries in Everett; and WHEREAS, the Council's Budget Committee recommended that the Salty Sea Days Association's proposal be treated similar to that of the Visitor's Information which receives on-going funding; and WHEREAS, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee reviewed Salty Sea Days Association's proposal and supported the proposal along with the Budget Committee's recommendation concerning the on-going funding of the proposal; and WHEREAS, in Resolution No. 4971 adopted November 8, 2000, the City Council authorized the Mayor to negotiate and execute a multi-year contract with Salty Sea Days Association relating to the use of hotel/motel tax funds; and WHEREAS, the City is entering into this Agreement for services pursuant to Chapter 67.28 RCW; and WHEREAS, this Agreement is consistent with the recommendations of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and the Budget Committee and is consistent with Resolution No. 4971; NOW, THEREFORE, the City and Association mutually agree as follows: SALTY SEA DAYS ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT 1
