• <br /> SALTY SEA DAYS <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into on this t day of /)O cC'iv <br /> 200C)by and between the City of Everett, a municipal corporation under the laws of the <br /> State of Washington, hereinafter referred to as "City," and the Salty Sea Days <br /> Association, hereafter referred to as "Association." <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, Salty Sea Days and the Everett Fourth of July Fireworks Show have <br /> attracted thousands of new visitors into the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the community can now enhance and expand its tourism development and <br /> visitor services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the economic well-being, stability and diversification of the City is <br /> dependent upon the growth, development and enhancement of the tourist, hospitality, <br /> recreation and entertainment industries in Everett; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council's Budget Committee recommended that the Salty Sea Days <br /> Association's proposal be treated similar to that of the Visitor's Information which <br /> receives on-going funding; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee reviewed Salty Sea Days <br /> Association's proposal and supported the proposal along with the Budget Committee's <br /> recommendation concerning the on-going funding of the proposal; and <br /> WHEREAS, in Resolution No. 4971 adopted November 8, 2000, the City Council <br /> authorized the Mayor to negotiate and execute a multi-year contract with Salty Sea Days <br /> Association relating to the use of hotel/motel tax funds; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City is entering into this Agreement for services pursuant to Chapter <br /> 67.28 RCW; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Agreement is consistent with the recommendations of the Lodging Tax <br /> Advisory Committee and the Budget Committee and is consistent with Resolution No. <br /> 4971; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City and Association mutually agree as follows: <br /> SALTY SEA DAYS ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT 1 <br />
