6 <br /> EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 1.8 Monthly Pay Requests <br /> Review the contractor's monthly requests for progress payments and recommend the <br /> appropriate amount to the City for payment to the contractor. Payment recommendations <br /> will be based upon the approved breakdown of the contractor's contract amount and the <br /> percentage complete of unit price items. The TIC Team will assist the City in evaluating <br /> contractor claims for extra work. <br /> 1.9 Requests for Information/Clarifications <br /> Receive and record all requests for information and clarification(RFI's)by the <br /> contractor. Distribute RFI's to the appropriate reviewer. Monitor status of RFI's. <br /> Provide information and clarification of the contract documents to the contractor based <br /> upon the contractor's requests for information/clarifications. Prepare and submit written <br /> responses and drawings or sketches as necessary to the contractor to clarify the contract <br /> documents, except for those requests related to the fabrication and erection of the tanks <br /> and electrical improvements. <br /> 1.10 Process Change Orders <br /> The TIC Team will review change requests and process change orders. These include <br /> review and determination of validity of change requests,preparation of change order <br /> proposal description and justification documentation for valid requests, assistance with <br /> negotiation of the change with the contractor,making recommendations to the City <br /> regarding any change orders, and processing the formal change order documents. Further <br /> review and defense of claims, beyond the initial determination,will be additional services <br /> not included in the fee estimate. <br /> 1.11 Project Meetings <br /> Prepare for and conduct periodic meetings at the project site with the contractor and City <br /> staff, subcontractors, equipment representatives and other parties of interest as necessary. <br /> It is anticipated that meetings will be weekly when significant construction work is <br /> underway(50% of the contract time)and every other week for the remainder of contract. <br /> The purpose of these meetings is to identify any potential field problems and other issues <br /> regarding the project as well as to review the project progress versus the project schedule. <br /> Notify the City of any potential or actual claims or protests of the contractor or other <br /> matters of importance. Meeting minutes will be recorded and distributed to all parties. <br /> 1.12 Project Manager/Engineer Site Visits <br /> Conduct periodic site visits by the project manager,project engineer,geotechnical, <br /> structural, landscape, civil,mechanical, and/or electrical subconsultant when significant <br /> construction is occurring or as important issues may need to be addressed. The purpose <br /> of these visits is to answer questions regarding the contract documents, assist with <br /> resolving project difficulties,review the progress of the work,review site conditions and <br /> review the construction work to confirm that it is proceeding in accordance with the <br /> requirements of the contract documents. <br /> 1.13 Monthly Project Status Reports <br /> Page 14 of 19 2 <br /> V <br />
