7 EXHIBIT A-3 <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> sections as required. The specifications and bid documents will be prepared using MS <br /> Word format. <br /> D. Review with City. Attend a review meeting with City staff at the 50 percent and 90 percent <br /> levels of effort. Review comments received from the City and other permitting/approval <br /> agencies will be included in the 100% Bidding/Contract Documents for the project. <br /> E. Final Contract Documents. Produce final Bidding/Contract Documents including reduced <br /> plans and technical specifications suitable for bidding purposes. A single bid package is <br /> assumed for this project. A single full size unbound bid-ready set of the Bidding/Contract <br /> Documents (signed paper originals of drawings and specifications) will be provided to the <br /> City. In addition, 3 bound sets of half-size drawings (11"x17") and specifications will be <br /> provided to the City. <br /> F. Engineer's Opinion of Probable Cost. An Engineer's Opinion of Probable Cost will be <br /> prepared at the 50% (Class 3) and 90% (Class 2) design completion levels. A final <br /> Engineer's Opinion of Probable Cost will be prepared at the 100% (updated Class 2) design <br /> completion level as an estimate of the project construction cost. <br /> G. HDD Contractor Prequalification Package. The Engineer will prepare a Contractor <br /> prequalification package for the HDD construction. The prequalification package will be <br /> distributed by the City to potential HDD Contractors prior to the project bid date. The <br /> engineer will evaluate the prequalification statements received from Contractors and <br /> prepare a letter of recommendation to the City. Qualified contractors will be notified of <br /> their eligibility to bid the project by the City. The results of the prequalification evaluation <br /> will be included in the 100% bid documents. Only bid packages naming prequalified HDD <br /> contractors will be accepted. Work activities related to any prequalification protest made <br /> by potential HDD contractors is considered additional services as described under Section <br /> V Additional Services. <br /> Task 14. Bidding Assistance <br /> A. Respond to questions received from prospective bidders. Due to the difficulty in <br /> anticipating the number of bidder questions the scope of this subtask is limited to up to 52 <br /> engineering hours of effort. <br /> B. Attend a prebid conference. Two staff members will attend from both MWH and Bennett <br /> Staheli Engineers. <br /> C. During the bidding period prepare any addenda items determined necessary to clarify or <br /> correct the Contract Documents in response to questions received from Bidders by <br /> telephone and at the prebid conference. The scope of this subtask is limited to up to 60 <br /> engineering hours of effort. <br /> D.
