The posted occupancy sign should be <br />for the highest load anticipated for either an assembly use (if less than 49) or an <br />assembly occupancy (if greater than 49), per IBC table 1004.1.1. <br />Egress <br />1. An architeclural site plan is required for review, for compliance with the building and fire <br />codes, per IBC 1101.2, and IFC Chapter 5. <br />a. Please indicate Fire Department access roads, and Fire Department access to the <br />buildings, inciuding "knox-box" locations near building doors, where applicable. <br />b. Please indicate fire hydrants, post-indicator valves, and similar equipment. <br />c. Please indicate all the improvements for accessible design and the accessible <br />route, in their entirety on the architectural site plan drawings, specifically within <br />the property lines. <br />d. Please identify on the architecturel site plan if this is a 9ated community for <br />vehicular access. <br />e. If the exit discharge is loc,3ted uvhere access to a public way cannol be provided, <br />a safe dispersal area shou�d be shown on the drawings, per IBC section 1027.6. <br />f. If the means of egress is khrough the pedestrian gates shown on the enclosure <br />for the complex, those gates are part of the means of egress and should comply <br />with all requirements listed in Egress item 2 on this letter. <br />All assembly areas (interior and designated exterior assembly areas), sl�ould have the <br />following indicated on the drav�ings: <br />a. Illuminaled exit signs should be shown on the drawings inside the building to <br />two separate exits, per IBC sections 1011.1 and 1014.1. <br />b. Emergency 1i�.3hting should be shown on tl�e reflected ceiling plan inside the <br />building, per IBC sections 1006.1 and 1006.3. <br />c. Gates serving the means of egress for the exterior assembly areas should be <br />shown on [he drawings to conform to the same code requirements for doors, per <br />IBC section 1008.2 <br />d. Where changes of elevation of less than 12 inches exist in lhe means of egress, <br />sloped surfaces should be shown on the drawings, per IBC section 1003.5. <br />e. Tactile exit signs should be shown on the drawings adjacent to each door to the <br />exit discharge, per IBC section 1011.3. <br />f. If locks and latches are provided on doors or gates in assembly areas, signage <br />per IBC section 1008.1.9.3 should be sho�vn on the dia�vings fur each of these <br />areas. <br />3. Landings are required on both sides of c9ress doors or yafes, per IBC sections 1008.1.5 <br />and 1008.1.6. <br />Doors seroing an assembly occupancy of greater than 50 occupants should not have a <br />latch or lock unless it is panic hardware or fire exit hard�vare, per IE3C section 1008.1.10. <br />Construction <br />1.
