The storage, handling and use of hazardou materials must be in
compliance with Article 80 of the Uniform Fire Code, 1991 Edition.
The storage, handling and use of flammable or combustible liquids shall compl}• cith Artide 79 oC
the Uniform Fire Code, 1991 Edition.
Please call 259-8726 for further information on any of the above items.
33. Stormwater quality protection and treatment requirements for each phase of this project shall be
those requirements tn effect at the time of application for Public Works permits. Currently, three
options for stormwater treatment are presented in the current Ciry standazds. The least preferred
option is allowed only if the first two options are infezsible in the opinion of the Public Works
Department. The options for sturmwater treatment are, in order of preference:
1) an infiltration basin designed and constricted according to City standards if suitable soils exist
on the site.
2) avetpond designed and constructed to City standards.
3) a baffle-type oil/water separator followed by a vegetated swale, both designed and constructed
according to Ciry standazds
The presence of wetlands on/adjacent to this site indicate that the soils may not be suitable for an
infiltration basin. If an infiltration basin is not feasible,a wetpond will be required.
34. Dumpsters over 1.5 cubic yards capacity must be located a minimum of 5 feet from the building
(UFC 11.302(b), 1991 Edition)
35. The Washington State Clean Air Act requires the use of all l:nown, available, and reasonable
means of controlling air pollution, including dust. Dust generated during construction activities
can be controlled by wetting those dust sources such as areas of exposed soils, washing truck
vheels before they leave the site, and installing and maintaining gravel construction entrances.
Construction vehicle track-out is also a major dust source. Any evidence of track-out can trigger
violations and fines from th. DepaRment of Ecoloey or the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control
Agency.
9
