A sprinkler system complying with UBC Standard 38-1 and/or NFPA Standard 13 must <br /> be provided. <br /> Plans for any such system must be submitted to the Building Department and the <br /> Everett Fire Department for examination and approval. Such plans must include plans <br /> for the underground mains that will supply the spnnkler system. <br /> As of January, 1991, sprinkler system permits are issuecl by the Building Department. <br /> Plan review fees are assessed by the Bmldmg Department. No fee is assessed by the <br /> Fire Department. <br /> Above ground sprinkler piping must be hydrostatically teste.l as established in NFPA <br /> Standard 13. Underground pipmg must be hydrostatically tested and flusheci as <br /> established in NFPS Stan�iard 24 for private fire mains. Ail such tests must be <br /> wimessed by a Fire Department inspector. Ca11259-8710 to n�alce an appointment for <br /> inspeCtion. <br /> Contract�rs' materials and test certificates must be submitted to the Everec? Fire <br /> Department prior to issuance of any Certificates of Occupancy. <br /> Call 259-8726 for more information. <br /> 24. An approved automatic fire detection system must be provided as required by Chapter <br /> 16.76 of the Everett Municipal Cocie. <br /> Plans for �uch system must be submitted to the Fire Marsl►al for review and approval <br /> prior to instatlation. Submittal shall include cut sheets of all equipment intended for <br /> use. Appropriate trip tests, wimesseci by a Fire Department ir�spector, must be <br /> performed prior to final acceptance of the systcm. <br /> Fire alarm systems must be installed under permit of the C�ty of Everett Building <br /> Depaitment. Electrical inspections and approval are requireci prior tu calling for <br /> acceptance tests. Call 259-8810 for permit mformadon. <br /> 25. A portable fire eztinguisher with a minimum UL rating of 2-A must be provided within <br /> 75 feet travel distance on each floor of all portions of each building during construction <br /> and prior to occupancy. <br /> 26. Fire lanes must be provided as requ'ved in Everett Municipal Code 46.44. Fire lanes � <br /> must be identified by red curbs witi► whi;e stenciling stating "NO PARKING - FIRE + <br /> LANE" and vertical s�gns stating "NO PARKING - FIRH LANE - TOW AWAY <br /> ZONE." Location must be appmved by the Fire Marshal. <br /> 27. The premises must be dearly identified by the correct address at the street entry. <br /> Duildings must be clearly iJeatified so as to be visible and legible from the access road. � <br /> 28. When access to or within a swcture or an azea is unduly difficult because of secured <br /> openings or where immediate access is necessary for life saving or fve-fighdng <br /> purposes, the Fire Depa�tment may recommend or require a key bo� to be mstalled in <br /> an access�ble location.
