City of Everett
Community Development Department
March 14, 1974
Page 2
B. Not less than eig.it pairs of double lights on high
poles over the Earl Meyer Used Car lot, 4 single
lights on high poles over the Joe Pignataro Used
Car lot, and three pairs of lights over the Haight -
Anderson dealership shine directly at and into our
home. (The intensity of these lights is such that
with all our interior lights extinguished, a news-
paper can be read in our living room during hours of -
darkness.) The right center portion of the enclosed
photograph indicates a portion of the offending
lights over the Earl Meyer property.
C. Request that Paragraph 2.52.050 of the Code be
enforced by causing the lights indicated in B. above
be extinguished or moved to shine away from our home.
II. Protective Screen
A. The apparent intent of the second paragraph under
15.04.260 Special Side Yards --Protective Screening
is to require effective sight obscurring barriers
between business establishments and nearby residen-
tial property.
B. Reference to the enclosed photograph shows that the
Suzuki Motorcycle building and the two Earl Meyer
Used Car buildings are not screened by plantings at
least six feet in height as required by the Code.
C. Request that Paragraph 15.04.260 be enforced to
require the establishments named in B. above to
install sufficient plantings at least six feet in
height to effectively create a sight obscuring
barrier between their buildings and our residence.
III. refuse
A. Several portions of the Code prohibit the dumping
of refuse on premises (e.g. 10.12.020 and 10.53.040).
