City of Everett
Community Development Department
April 25, 1974
Page 2
Our position at this time regarding the subjects is as follows:
I. Lights
With Eerl Myers' lot- lights extinguished, the
situation is much improved.
I was in error in citing Pignataro lot lights as
offending. Rather, it is five city -owned lights direct•- in
front of the Pignataro lot which offend. Mr. Budden's analysis
is probably correct in that the difference in elevation between
our home and those lights contributes to the problem. Can
they be shielded or changed in angle to reduce their glare?
Extinguishing or moving one bank of lot lights
located immediately north of the south driveway of the Haight -
Anderson dealership would cure the only other severe light
problem.
II. Protec_.ive Screening
Mr. Budden indicated this subject was outside his
province. My original request for action on this subject is
amended to include also the now -completed Alfy's Pizza
establishment.
Screening in the form of landscaping trees, etc., to
obscure the Alfy's building, the Suzuki building, and the
two Earl Myers sheds from view of our lakeside home would be
of immense benefit. Again, Section 15.04.260 appears to
require such screening of the rear of business property from
residential property.
We are extremely concerned that: in more than one
month no corrective action has been taken; nor have you
responded on this subject.
