(24) TYie prevailing rate of wages to be paid to all workmen, laborers, or mechanics employed in the performance of any part of this Contract shall be in accordance with :he provisions of Chapter 39.12 RCW, as amended. The rules and regulations of the Department of Labor and Industries an� the schedule or prevailing wage rates for the locality or localities where this Contract will be performed as determined by the Industrial Statistician of the Oepartment of Labor and Industries, are by reference made a �art of this Contract as though fully set forth herein. Inasmuch as the Contractor will be held responsible for paying the prevailing wages, it is imperative tnat all Contractors familiarize themselves with the current wage rates before submitting bids based on these specifications. Each voucher claim submitted by a Contractor for payment on a project shall state prevailing wages have been paid in accordance with the prefiled Statement or Statements of Intent un file with the Department of Labor and Industries as approved by the Industrial Statistician. (25)A. The Contractor agrees to be bound by all Federal and State laws, regulations and policies against discrimination and agrees not to discriminate against any employee or applicant ;'or employment because of race, color, religian, sex, age, handicap, marital state, or national origin. Such actions shall include but not be limited to, the following: employment, upgrading, demotions, or transitions; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; selection for training including apprenticeship; and participation in recreational and educational activities. The Contractor agrees to post in conspicuous places available to employees and applicants for employment notice setting forth the provisions of this nondiscrimination clause. The Contractor will in all solicitations and advertisements for employees placed by or on behalf of the Contractor state that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard zo race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, marital state or national origin. The Contractor will cause the foregoing provisions to be inserted in all subcontracts for any work covered by this Agreement so that such provisions will be binding upon each subcontractor. B. The Contractor shall keep such records and submit such reports concerning the racial and etimic origin of applicants for employment and employees as the City may require. C. The Contractor agrees to comply with such rules, regulations or guidelines as the City may issue to implement these requirements effective on the date of this Agreement. 5
