(24) TYie prevailing rate of wages to be paid to all workmen, laborers, <br />or mechanics employed in the performance of any part of this <br />Contract shall be in accordance with :he provisions of Chapter <br />39.12 RCW, as amended. The rules and regulations of the <br />Department of Labor and Industries an� the schedule or prevailing <br />wage rates for the locality or localities where this Contract <br />will be performed as determined by the Industrial Statistician of <br />the Oepartment of Labor and Industries, are by reference made a <br />�art of this Contract as though fully set forth herein. <br />Inasmuch as the Contractor will be held responsible for paying <br />the prevailing wages, it is imperative tnat all Contractors <br />familiarize themselves with the current wage rates before <br />submitting bids based on these specifications. <br />Each voucher claim submitted by a Contractor for payment on a <br />project shall state prevailing wages have been paid in accordance <br />with the prefiled Statement or Statements of Intent un file with <br />the Department of Labor and Industries as approved by the <br />Industrial Statistician. <br />(25)A. The Contractor agrees to be bound by all Federal and State laws, <br />regulations and policies against discrimination and agrees not to <br />discriminate against any employee or applicant ;'or employment <br />because of race, color, religian, sex, age, handicap, marital <br />state, or national origin. Such actions shall include but not be <br />limited to, the following: employment, upgrading, demotions, or <br />transitions; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; <br />selection for training including apprenticeship; and <br />participation in recreational and educational activities. The <br />Contractor agrees to post in conspicuous places available to <br />employees and applicants for employment notice setting forth the <br />provisions of this nondiscrimination clause. The Contractor will <br />in all solicitations and advertisements for employees placed by <br />or on behalf of the Contractor state that all qualified <br />applicants will receive consideration for employment without <br />regard zo race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, marital <br />state or national origin. The Contractor will cause the <br />foregoing provisions to be inserted in all subcontracts for any <br />work covered by this Agreement so that such provisions will be <br />binding upon each subcontractor. <br />B. The Contractor shall keep such records and submit such reports <br />concerning the racial and etimic origin of applicants for <br />employment and employees as the City may require. <br />C. The Contractor agrees to comply with such rules, regulations or <br />guidelines as the City may issue to implement these requirements <br />effective on the date of this Agreement. <br />5 <br />
