Msy 26, 1988
Timberplex
1231 S. Director Street
Seattle, WA 98108
QTY OF
RE: 2509 Melvin everett
To Whom It May Concern: a,v N/LL • t59B]55
EVERETT.WASHiNGTON
A building permit application has been submitted for a four ufPft
apartment building at 2509 Melvin in EverPtt. Previously, the City
reviewed and approved a variance for construction of eight units on
the site (Variance N9-88) .
The State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Rules require that
construction of more tlan four dwelling .nits must complete a SEPA
environmental review rior to issuance of any City approvals or
permits. While the SEPA Rules allow phased review of development
proposals, they do not allow phased review when 'it would merely
divide a larger proposal into exempted fragments". Before we can
review tPe building permit application for the 4 unit apartmPnt, e
SEPA review must be completed for construction of the total eight
unit proposal.
Enclosed is an application packet for the environmental review. If
you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact Mary
Cunningham at 259-8731.
Sincerely,
DENNIS L.
