This section descri�ics health and safery requirements to be implemented in support of <br />Contractor activities associated �vith excavating, handling, loading, transporting, and <br />disposal of contaminated materials on designated portions of the site. f3ased on the <br />presence of chemical constituents in soil at the site, Contractor shall prepare and <br />implement a site-specific health and safety plan for the work under this Contract. <br />Additionally, Contractor shall exercise due caution when excavating and handling <br />impactcd soil and construction �vater to minimize the potential health hazard to persons <br />on the site, adjacent propertics, and the general public. <br />I3. The work is located within the Norlh Marina Redevelopment site, which is listed on thc <br />Washington State Depariment of Ccology's (L'wlogy) Confirmed and Suspected <br />Contaminatcd Sites List. <br />C. tiased on field invcstigations, hazardous substances above Model Toxics Control Act <br />(MTCA) soil cleanup Icvels for unrestric;ed site use for carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic <br />hydrocarbons (cPAI Is), total pctrolcum hydrocazbons (TPH) in the diesel and oil ranges, <br />and hcavy metals arc kno�vn to exist in site soil. In the areas designated for shallow soil <br />cicanup excavation on the Plans, thc mavcimum concentrations of thcse ha�ardous <br />substances delected in soil during previous site investigations are: <br />D. Based on ficld invcstigations, hazardous substances above M1'CA groundwater cleanup <br />levcl for protcction of surface water for TPH in the diescl and oil ranges, and heavy <br />metals are known to exist in site groundwater.
