PORT OF EVERET'I' <br />NORTH MARINA REDEVELOPMENT <br />SHALLOW SOIL VCP CLEANUP ACTION <br />SEC'I'ION 01350 <br />HEALTIi AND SAFETY <br />E. Because the �vork is located within a listed site and the presence of cPAHs, TPH, and <br />heavy metals are prescnt above regulatory cica�iup levels in shallow soil, Contractor shall <br />comply with, at a minimum, ihe provisions of 29 CFR 1926, WAC 296-] 55, and the <br />Contractor's site-specific hcalth and safety plan throughoul the duration of the work. <br />Additionally, Contractor shall excrcise due caution ��hen excavating soil in any locaiion <br />to minimize the potential health hazard all project pariieipants. <br />1�. Contnctor shall at all times conduct its activitics with appropriate precautions to avoid <br />thc risk of bodily harm to persons or thc risk of damage to �any properly or the <br />cnvironment. Contractor shall continuously inspect all wotk, materials, and equipment <br />and shall be solely respunsiblc for discovcry, dctcrtnination, and correction of any <br />conditions that may im�olvc such risks. <br />G. Contractor shall supply all equipment, materials, and personncl necessary to meet the <br />requircments of this Scction �nd all applicable codes ar�d regul�tions for safe ]iandling <br />and disposal ofcontaminated soil and construction water. <br />I1. Thc Port will bc responsible for the health and safety protection of their personnel and <br />will conduct thcir activitics in accordancc ���ith ihcir o�vn hcalth and �:�fet}' plan(s). <br />1.02 SUBMITI'ALS <br />A. Within 21 days of thc issuancc of thc Noticc to Procecd and prior lo stariing thc work, <br />submit thc following: <br />l. A sito-specific health and safety plan mecting applicable rcgulatory requirements. <br />Obtain Pori's concurrence with thc plan before conducling the work. <br />2. Suhmil to thc Porl the namc and quali6cations of Contractor's health and safety <br />officer for thc work. Contractor shall not replace this person without prior written <br />appro��al by the Port. <br />3. Submit proof of appmpriatc WAC 296-62 Part P training for site workers and <br />supervisory personncl who are authorized by the Contractor to engage in work <br />associated ���ith hazardous materials and }wtentially ha.zardous materials.
