PORT OF EVERETT <br />NORTH MARINA REDEVELOPMENT <br />SHALLOW SOIL VCP CLEANUP ACTION <br />PART2-PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />SECTION 01355 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION <br />A. Selection of the types, capacities, and materials of products and equipment needed to <br />execute the work and to provide the required environmental protection is the <br />responsibility of Contractor. Materials, tools, and equipment shall be suitable for the <br />intended purpose and shall conform to the requirements of the Specifications and <br />applicable codes and standards for safety. <br />B. Decontaminate equipment and materials prior to transporiing the equipment or mate• ia:s <br />to the site, as appropriate, and decontaminate and/or clean equipment and materials prior <br />to removing them from the site in conformance with Section 01564. <br />C. Select suitable environmental protection products and equipment to facilitate the �Nork, <br />including, but not limited to, absorbent pads and booms, straw bales, ccology blc �ks, silt <br />fencing, pressure �vashers, pumps and hoses, filter media, tanks, shield systems, small <br />tools, plastic (polyethylene) sheeting, and all other rcquired facilities and equipment. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 CONDUCT OF THE WORK <br />A. Conduct the �vork in a manner that protects the em�ironment as specified in this section <br />and elsewherc in the Contract Documents. Failure to protect the environment may result <br />in the Pori issuing a stop �vork order, the duration of which shall extend until conditions <br />that threaten the environment are corrected to the satisfaction of the Port.
