During such time, and provided that there has <br />been an advance waming to the public, the ramp may be closed for the minimum time <br />required to piace and compact the HMA. In hot weather, the Project Engineer may require <br />the application of water to the pavement to accelerate the finish rolling of the pavement and <br />to shorten the time required before reopening to lraffic. <br />Before closing a ramp, advance waming signs shall be piaced and signs shall also be <br />placed marking the detour or altemate route. Ramps shall not be closed on consecutive <br />interchanges at the same time. <br />During paving operations, temporary pavement markings shall be maintained throughout <br />the project. Temporary pavement markings shall be installed on the roadway prior to <br />opening to traBic. Temporary pavement markings shall be in accordance with 5ection 8- <br />23. <br />All costs in connection with performing lhe work in acr.ordance with these requirements, <br />except the cost of temporary pavement markings, shall be included in lhe unit contract <br />prices for lhe various bid items involved in the contract. <br />Page 25 of 50 <br />
