PORT OF EVERETT <br />W MARINE VIEW DR <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />Conduit <br />Section 8-20.3(5) is supplemenled with the following: <br />Conduit installed at the following locations shall be Rigid Galvanized Steel: <br />Within railroad right o( way unless othenvise specified in the contract. <br />Conduit risers except as otherwise required by serving utili6es. <br />Surface mounted conduit other than conduit risers. <br />CIP NO. 3-0-003-09 <br />PROJECTNO. <br />PD•WM-20006-07 <br />Couplings in cabinet foundations shall be PVC schedule 40. The stubouts above ihe couplings <br />shall be PVC end beil bushings. The schedule 40 section of PVC between the coupling and end <br />bell bushing shall be instailed without glue. <br />Conduit installed using the directional boring method shall be UL listed High Density <br />F'olyethylene (HDPE) Schedule S0, Carlon Bore-Gard Schedule 80 or Rigid Galvanized Steel. <br />When HDPE is used, the crossing shall be extended into the associated junction boxes with PVC <br />schedule 80 elbows. The PVC elbows shall be connected to the HDPE conduit with an approved <br />mechanical coupler. <br />At ali other locations, unless othenvise specified in the Plans, conduit shall be�PVC or Rigid <br />Gaivanized Steel. <br />With the exception of HDPE conduit crossings and associated PVC conduit elbows, the same <br />type of conduit shall be used for the entire length of the run from outlet to outlet. Where PVC or <br />HDPE conduit is used, the same schedule shall be used for the entire length of the run from <br />outlet to outlet. <br />Conduit shall be laid to a minimum depth of: <br />48 inches below the bottom of ties under rail road tracks. <br />24 inches below the curb grade in the sidewalk area. <br />24 inches below finished grade in all other areas. <br />Conduit stub-outs within cabinet foundetions shall be placed so that they do not interfere with <br />cabinet installation. Modification of lhe cabinet to accommodate stub-out placement is not <br />allowed. <br />A pull string rated for 200 Ibs. or greater shall be instailed in all spare conduit. <br />All conduit including spare conduits shall be instalied with bushings. Rigid Galvanized Steel <br />conduit shall be installed with insulated grounding bushings. PVC conduit shall be installed with <br />molded one-piece end bell bushings. <br />All conduits including spare conduits shali be installed with plugs, which shall not be removed <br />untii installation o( conductors or pull string.
