• <br /> 8 CITY OF EVERETT <br /> NOTICE TO BIDDERS <br /> FOR <br /> SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE FACILITY <br /> Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals for the Sodium Hypochlorite Facility at the Everett <br /> Water Filtration Plant, Chaplain Reservoir will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 1st <br /> Floor Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore, Everett, Washington 98201, until 2:00 p.m., on <br /> Tuesday, September 21st, 2006. At the appointed time, all bids will be opened and publicly read <br /> aloud in the Public Meeting Room of the Wall Street Building. The engineer's estimate for this <br /> project is $4 million. <br /> The character and scope of the work may include, but is not limited to the summary of work as <br /> specified in Section 01010. The Sodium Hypochlorite Facility project work involves <br /> construction of a concrete masonry building, storage tanks, piping, pumping, access, <br /> instrumentation and controls. <br /> A pre-bid walk-through is scheduled at 1:00 in the afternoon on Thursday, September 2nd, at the <br /> Everett Water Filtration Plant, 6133 Lake Chaplain Road, Sultan, Washington, 98294. Bidders <br /> should plan on approximately 2 hours for the site visit. It is required that all prospective bidders <br /> attend the walk-through. <br /> Plans, specifications, addenda, and plan holders list for this project may be viewed or ordered <br /> on-line from Builders Exchange at http://www.bxwa.com/public/everett.htnil. The City of <br /> Everett strongly encourages contractors to register for the bidder's list kept at Builder's <br /> Exchange of Washington, Inc. Builder's Exchange is located at 2607 Wetmore Avenue, <br /> Everett, WA 98201. Their phone number is 425-258-1303. Any addenda to the contract <br /> documents will be posted on the Builders Exchange website; it is the bidder's responsibility to <br /> ensure they have acquired all addenda prior to submitting a bid. <br /> For technical questions regarding this project, contact Mr. Emil Voges, Project Engineer, Brown <br /> & Caldwell, (206) 749-2268, Seattle, Washington. <br /> All proposals must be made upon the regular forms provided for this purpose and must be <br /> accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the <br /> total amount(s) of the bid(s). A one hundred percent (100%) Corporate Surety Performance <br /> Bond will be required of the successful bidder to guarantee faithful performance of the contract. <br /> The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or <br /> informalities. No bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening thereof.
