If suitable soils exist on the site, surface storm water infiltration systems (e.g.,
pervious pavers or surface ponding areas and/or swales) may be used to avoid
creating hydraulically -connected pavement from a storm water treatment
standard.
From a storm water t"eatment standpoint, for a paved area to be considered
hydraulically -disconnected, storm water runoff from at least the 6-month, 24-hour
storm must be fully retained and/or infiltrated.
21. The available options for treatment of run off from hydraulically -connected
pavement are:
a. An infiltration basin with pretreatment, if suitable soils exist on the site.
Acceptable pretreatment systems are either a wet vault or tank designed
in accordance with City standards and containing 30% of the 6-month, 24-
hour storm as dead storage, or a pretreatment system that has obtained a
GULD for pretreatment from the Washington State Department of
Ecology.
b. A constructed wetland
A storm water technology that has received a GULD (General Use Level
Designation) from the Washington State Department of Ecology for either
basic or enhanced treatment, with pretreatment. As noted in 21 a,
acceptable pretreatment systems are either a wet vault or tank designed
in accordance Vvith City standards and containing 30°0 of the 6-month, 24-
hour storm as dead storage, or a pretreatment system that has obtained a
GULD for pretreatment from the Washington State Department of
Ecology.
All storm water facilities shall be designed in accordance with applicable City
standards and/or designed policies.
22. All chemicals or products of a hazardous or toxic nature that may be used or
stored on the site must be stored under cover and isolated from the storm
drainage system.
23. Landscaping must be provided per Section 35 of the Zoning Code (Landscape
Category C).
24. Outdoor storage areas shall be clearly identified on the building permit plans and
method for screening shall be provided.
25.
