Map <br /> Amount Budgeted -0- <br /> 3 <br /> Expenditure Required -0- Account Number(s): n/a <br /> Budget Remaining -0- <br /> Additional Required -0- <br /> DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: <br /> A petition has been received from the Everett Community College for the proposed vacation of a portion of Waverly <br /> Avenue north of Tower Street(See attached map). <br /> The Everett Community College Master Plan proposes a new multi-level parking garage to be sited on the College's <br /> existing surface parking lot on the east side of Waverly Avenue. The requested vacation of Waverly Avenue will <br /> allow the College to relocate and re-orient the parking garage to the southern portion of their site spanning the vacated <br /> right-of-way. The revised location will provide the adjacent neighborhood with a greater setback from the proposed <br /> parking structure and also allow the College to re-orient the proposed expansion of the Early Learning Center <br /> increasing the buffer from this structure to the neighborhood as well. <br /> The petitioner by representing more than two-thirds of the front footage abutting the portion of the street to be vacated <br /> has fulfilled the statutory requirements of RCW 35.79.010. <br /> RCW 35.79.010 further requires that City Council set a date and time for the matter to be heard. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt the Resolution accepting the petition and setting the public hearing for February 21st, 2007 at 6:30 PM in the <br /> Everett City Council chambers, 3002 Wetmore Avenue for the proposed vacation of a portion of Waverly Avenue north <br /> of Tower Street. <br /> 31 <br />
