Establishing and maintaining two-way radio contact among flaggers for <br /> 2 the purpose of coordinating construction traftic movements through the <br /> � 3 intersection of Front Street and State Route 525, and for the purpose of <br /> 4 dispatching of trucks from the inbound staging area. <br /> 5 <br /> I 6 4. Ensuring that corrections are made if traffic control devices are not <br /> � 7 functioning as required. The TCS may make minor revisions to the <br /> 8 approved traffic control plan to accortimodate site conditions as long as <br /> � 9 the original intent of ihe tra�c control plan is maintained and the <br /> 10 revision has concurrence of the Engineer. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 5. Monitoring ferry tra�c queues and providing fiagger control of ferry <br /> � 13 traffic queues around the inbound staging area, using appropriate <br /> � 14 advance signing, if necessary. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 6. Attending ira�c control coordinating meetings or coordination activities <br /> 17 as authorized by the Engineer. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 7. Overseeing all requirements of the contract which contribute to the <br /> j 20 convenience, safety, and orderly movement of vehicular and pedestrian <br /> 21 tra�c. <br /> 22 <br /> � 23 8. Ensuring that all needed traffic control devices are available and in good <br /> 24 working condition prior to the need to install those devices. <br /> 25 <br /> � 26 9. Having a current set of approved TCP's and applicable contract <br /> ' 27 provisions in compliance with the latest adopted edition o( the Manual <br /> 28 on Uniform Traffic Control Devices including the Modifications to the <br /> � 29 MUTCD for Streets and Highways for tlie State of Washington and <br /> � 30 applicable standards and specifications. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The TCS may perform the work described by "Traf(ic Control Labor" as long as the <br /> 33 duties of the TCS are accomplished. Possession of a currenl flagging card by the TCS is <br /> 34 mandatory. <br /> � 35 <br /> + 36 A reflective vest and a hard hal shail be worn by the TCS. <br /> 37 <br /> � 38 1-10.2(2) Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) <br /> 39 The traffic control plan or plans appearing in the contract plans show a method of <br /> 40 handling traffic. All flaggers are to be shown on the tra�c control plan except (or <br /> � 41 emergency situations. The Contractor shall designate and adopt in writing the specific <br /> 42 traffic conirol pian or plans required for their method of performing the work. If the <br /> 43 Contractor's methods diHer (rom the contract tra�c control plan(s), the Contractor shall <br /> 44 propose modificalion of the traffic control plan(s) by showing the necessary construction <br /> } 45 signs, flaggers, and other traKc control devices required for the project. The Contractor's <br /> � 46 modified traffic control plan(s) shall be in accordance with the established standards for <br /> 47 plan development as shown in the MUTCD, Part VI. The Contractor's letter designating <br /> � 48 and adopting the specific traffic control plan(s) or any proposed modified plan(s) shall be <br /> 49 submitted to the Engineer for approval at least ten calendar days in advance of the time <br /> 50 the signs and other traffic control devices will be required.
