Class B construction signs <br /> I 3 are those signs that are placed and removed daily or are used for short durations which <br /> � 4 may extend for one or more days. They are mounted on porlable or temporary <br /> 5 mountings. Ii it is necessary to add weight to the signs for stability, only a bag of sand <br /> � 6 that will rupture on impact shall be used. The bag of sand shall: (1) be furnished by the <br /> 7 Contractor, (2) have a maximum weight o( 40 pounds, and (3) be suspended no more <br /> 8 than 1 foot from the ground. In the event of disputes, the Engineer wilt determine if a <br /> � 9 construction sign is considered as a Ciass A or B construction sign. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 When Ciass A or B �onstruction signs are required, the work to provide these signs shail <br /> 12 be: <br /> � 13 1. Furnishing, removing, and disposing of the pusts or supports for the signs; <br /> 14 2. Initial acquisition irom the Engineer and ultimate return to the Engineer of the <br /> 15 required Contracting Agency-furnished signs; <br /> � 16 3. Initial installation and subsequent removal of both Class A and B construction <br /> . 17 signs; and <br /> 18 4. All other incidentals necessary for providing Class A or B construction signs <br /> + 19 according to the approved traffic control plan(s). <br /> � 20 <br /> 21 No item will be provided in the bid proposal (or Class B consiruction signs. Payment for <br /> � 22 Class B construction signs will be limited to the labor cost to do the work described in <br /> 23 5ection 1-10.3(1). All other costs for the work to provide Class B construction signs shali <br /> 24 be included in the unit contract price for the various other items of the work in the bid <br /> t 25 proposal. <br /> � 26 <br /> 27 Signs, posts, or supports that are lost, stolen, damaged, desiroyed, or which the <br /> 28 Engineer deems to be unacceptable, while their use is required on the project, shall be <br /> � 29 replaced by the ConUactor without additional compensation. <br /> � 30 <br /> 31 1-10.3(4) Temporary Traffic Control Devices <br /> � 32 When the bid proposal includes an item for "Temporary Traffic Control Devices," the <br /> � 33 work required for this item shall be furnishing barricades, flashers, cones, tra�c safety <br /> 34 drums, and other temporary traffic control devices, unless the contract provides for <br /> � 35 furnishing a specific temporary traffic conirol device under another item. The item <br /> 36 "Temporary Traffic Control Devices" includes: <br /> 37 <br /> � 38 1. Initial delivery to the project site (or temporary storage) in good repair and in <br /> � 39 clean usable condition, <br /> 40 2. Repair or replacement when they are damaged and they are still needed on the <br /> ) 41 project, and <br /> ( 42 3. Removal from the project site when they are no longer needed on the project. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 1-10.4 Measurement <br /> 45 Tra�c control labor will be by the hour for each hour a person is actually performing the <br /> 46 work described in Section 1-10.3(1). Portions of an hour will be rounded up to a whole <br /> 47 hour. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Class A construction signs will be by the square foot of panel area.
