i
1 1 will be expecled to occur. The JMF (Job Mix Formula) is ds!ined in
2 Basis of Acceptance.
I 3
4 The Contractor may request a change in the JMF. If the request is
5 approved, all of the material produced up to the time of the change will
I 6 be evaluated on the basis of available tests and a new lot will begin.
7 The quantity represented by each sample will constitute a sublot.
8 Sampling and testing for statistical evaluation shall be performed on a
I 9 random basis at the frequency of one sample per sublot, with a
10 minimum of five sublots per class of HMA. Sublot size shall be
11 determined to the nearest 100 tons to provide not less than five
12 uniform sized sublots, based on proposal quantities, with a maximum
13 sublot size of S00 tons.
14
15 Sampling and testing for nonstatistical evaluation shall be perfortned
{ 16 on a random basis at a minimum frequency of one sample for each
17 sublot of 400 tons or each day's production, whichever is least. When
18 proposal quantities exceed 1,200 tons for a class of HMA under
I 19 nonstatistical evaluation, sublot size shall be determined to the
20 nearest 100 tons to provide not less than three uniform sized sublots,
21 based on proposal quantities, with a maximum sublot size of 800 tons.
 22
23 C. Test Results. The Engineer will fumish the Cntractor with a copy of
24 the results of all acceptance testing performed in the field at the
I 25 beginning of the next paving shift. The Engineer will also provide the
26 Composite Pay Factor (CPF) of the completed sublots after three
27 sublots have been produced. The CPF will be provided by the
28 midpoint of the next paving shift after sampling.
( 29
30 Individual acceptance sample test results (gradation and asphalt
31 binder content) may be challenged by the Contractor. A written
I 32 challenge of the test results by the Contractor shall be received by the
33 Project Engineer within five working days after receipt of the specific
34 test results. A split of the original acceptance sample shall be sent, for
35 testing, to a materials testing lab as determined by the Engineer. The
36 challenged sample will not be tested with the same equipment or by
37 the same tester thst ran the original acceptance sample. The
! 38 challenge sample will be tested for a complste gradation analysis and
I39 asphalt binder content.
40
I 41 The results of the challenge sample will be compared to the original
42 results of the acceptance sample test and evaluated according to the
43 following criteria:
44
I 45 Deviation
46 iJo. 4 sieve and larger t4 percent
47 No. 6 sieve to No. 80 sieve t2 percent
I 48 No. 100 and No. 200 sieve t0.4 percent
49 Asphalt binder% t0.3 percent
50
IPort o(Everett FAWAT-03-03i
Satellite RaillBarge Transkr F-ility Final Port Revlaw Draft
 Phase 1:Pier Constructlon 81 7!Maroh ZOOS
