January t4, 2003 <br />HWA Proiect No. 2002-146-21 <br />The ground surface within the construction azea should be sealed by a smooth <br />drum vibratory roller, or equivalent, and under no circumstances should soil <br />be left uncompacted and exposed to moisture. <br />• Excavation and placement of fill material should be observed under the full- <br />time observation of a representative of the geotechnical engineer, to determine <br />that the work is consistently being accomplished in accordence with the <br />project specifications and the recommendations contained herein. <br />Bales of sVaw and/or geotextile silt fences should be strategically located to <br />control erosion and the movement of soil. <br />4.6 STRUCTURAL PAVEMENT DESIGN <br />Pavement section materials (i.e the CSBC) should be placed direcdy on either properly- <br />compacted roadway fill (i.e. Gravel Bo:row), or subgrade soils prepared as recommended <br />in Section 4.5.1.
