Floor of area wAlls . slope to drain, <br />minimum 4" thick, and c�info ed wi.th welded steel wire <br />fabric. Walls of area wells minimum 6" thick, project <br />minimum 4" above grade, include �4 reinforcing tsrs, 16" <br />O.C. hocizontal and vertical. Tie reinforcing bars into <br />existing foundation wall by exten�ing each horizontal <br />bar a minimum 2" into existing walls. Include ladd�r <br />rungs into area well, 12" apart, 12" wide, minimum 4" <br />projection into area well. Pour concrete, 3,000 psi <br />minimum, and finish top edge. Remove formwork, backfill <br />and level. <br />Ba�=-ment D[ainage <br />Patch over existing drain in carport with concrete. Cut <br />new drain in non-enclosed portion of carport, <br />appeoxinacely 4' from new basement apaetment wall, (see <br />draw�ng). Cut approximately 3' diameter area to ba <br />sloped to new drain with new concrete. Tie new drain <br />into existing basement dtain pipe to be capped. Fill in <br />new area up to drain pipe with concrete, sloped to <br />drain. Provide metal grata cover ovec new drain, flush <br />with adjacent surfaces. <br />Build firred wood cover fur existing basement drain <br />where new kitchen cabinets iaill be installed. Tcp of <br />cover : level with adjacent floor and cover the sloped <br />area immediately - surrounding drain. Cover . fit <br />secur=ly into depression so that cabinets may be located <br />over CC'JEC. <br />Concrete walk <br />Construct new walk from kitchen doer to end of carnort <br />as shown in drawings. Install welded steel wire <br />fabric. Thickness : minimum 4", width as shown. Brush <br />finish. <br />$ <br />4. Interior Structure �See dcawings far locations of <br />walls to be added and walls to be removed in basement. <br />Tear out non-bearing frame walls on north and west ends <br />of carport. Install new 2 x 4 interier frame walls, 16" <br />O.C. as shown. Buttom plate pressure treated. <br />Ins:all 2 x 2 furring on all exterior concrete wallsl6" <br />O.i:. secured with case-hardened concrete nails and <br />construction adhesive. Areas with only partial height <br />concrete with £rame walls above : 2 x Z furring below, 2 <br />x 4 furring above, flush lapped and scabbed toqether. <br />Provide all necessary fireblocking. <br />Stairwell <br />Remove existing stairs to <br />across opening, supported <br />Inst�tl 3/4" T& G plywood <br />annu��r ring shank nails <br />equal, sanded and ready <br />Supporting oosts : replaced <br />main floor. Install joists <br />by metal joist hangars. <br />on top of joists.
