Section 1005 <br />3. The plans for 'he mechanical ventilation system for the basement parking <br />garage should be provided. (Minimum 1.5 cfm per sq.ft. x 8255 = 12,382 cfm <br />exhaust capacity) Section 705 <br />4. One hour occupancy separation should be provided between the B-1 (parking <br />garage) and the storage rooms and mechanical rooms which are B-2. Table 5-B <br />5. Toilet room floors should have a smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface which <br />extend upward onto the walls at least 5". Walls withii water closet compartments <br />and walls within 2' of the frcnt and sides of urinals should be similarly fin- <br />ished to a height of 4'. <br />a. The staff toilet on Sheet A-9.1 does not appear to comply. <br />D. The lounge toilet on Sheet A-9.3 does not appear to comply. <br />c. The exposed masonry around water closets and urinals would not comply <br />as a smooth surface, however, there are i,iterior finish materials that <br />can be applied over the masonry which produces an approved surface. As <br />an example, see RR 1771. <br />6. The water closet stool should be located in a clear space not less than 30" <br />in width. Section 1711(b). The lounge toilet shown on Sheet A-9.3 does not <br />comply. <br />7. Construction details should be provided for the kitchen cooler aiid freezer <br />rooms where foam plastic insulation is used. Section 1717(b)2 <br />8. Foam plastic rigid insulation: <br />a. It should be proved prior to insulation to have a flame spread rating of <br />75 and a smoke develop rating of 450 or less. <br />b. If, as specified in the specifications, the "K 13" spray -on insulation by <br />National Cellulose is used (RR 2262), it has a flame spread of 25 and a <br />smoke density of 450. Therefore, it would be acceptable as wall and ceil- <br />ing finish in accordance with Table 42-A and 42-B. <br />9. The following equipment should be located on the plans so that the required <br />fire protection and ventilation can be provided: <br />a. The boiler room and its BTU rating. Section 1008 <br />b. The compressor units of the refrigeration system and its Horsepower <br />rating. UMC 1507 <br />
