The transformer rooms. <br />10. Class I standpipes should be installed in all of the enclosed stairways. There <br />should be a three-way outlet above the roof line whe:-e the roof has a slope of less <br />than 4:12. The standpipe should be it.terconnected at the bottom. Section 3803(c) <br />11. Class I standpipe should be installed during construction when the progress of <br />the construction is not more than 50' in height above grade. Section 3804(a) 8 (b) <br />12. A sprinkler system is required throughout the I-3 occupancy. Section 3802(b) <br />Design plans checked by an approved fire rating bureau should be submitted to you <br />and your fire marshal for approval prior to installation. <br />13. Floor drains which are subject to infrequent use, expecially in the mechanical <br />rooms, require primers. Section 707 UPC <br />14. All floor openings should be enclosed in a 2 hour fire resistive construction: <br />a. The mezzanines do not comply with provisions of Section 414 in that the <br />floor area exceeds 1/3 of the total rloor area in the room. The cells <br />should be considered is part of the area of the upper mezzanine room. <br />Section 414 <br />b. The two-story outdoor recreation area constitutes an opening through a <br />floor. All openings into this area should be protected by 1 1/2 hour fire <br />protection assemblies. <br />15. Suspended ceiling system: <br />a. The suspended ceilings should be of noncombustible materials. <br />b. The suspended ceiling requi-es lateral bracing. Table 23-J, Item 5 <br />UBC Standard 47-18 gives one method of accomplishing this. Details should <br />be indicated on the plans. <br />16. Interior finishes in the administrative areas should have Class III flame spread <br />ratings. The flame spread rating for the plastic laminates, wainscots, and combus- <br />tible wall coverings should be indicated and should be shown to comply prior to final <br />inspection. Section 4204 <br />17. 1• the I-3 areas, Class II materials are required, except that in locked areas, <br />Class I materials are required. Wainscoting, chalk boards, tack boards, and bulletin <br />boards are areas which may not comply. Table 42-B <br />18. The drain detail shown on 6/A-4.2 should be provided with an overflow scupper in <br />the event the drain becomes clogged. Section 3207(c) <br />
