Affidavit of Wages Paid
Equal Opportunity Reports 257
Affidavits of Amounts Paid
Ray Emory asked if the drawings and specifications will be
corrected. Mel responded that we are presently collecting
contract documents from the field and the distribution of plans
and specs will be through Kiewit. The addendas will be included
with the package the way they were issued. Ray asked if the
successful contractors can be reimbursed the amount they paid for
the drawings. Mel stated there is a $60 reimbursement offer
presently in force.
Representatives from the architectural firm arrived at this time
and introductions were made. Dave Davis and Larry Crawford, City
of Everett, left the meeting.
Gordon Ruehl, WMFL, expressed two concerns which the
architectural firm had. The first was the buff -colored concrete
work. The design of the building tries to alleviate some of the
problems by putting in joint lines at a single panel size.
Another concrete concern is the consistency of the color of the
concrete and any exposed, unpainted or unfinished concrete,
except for sandblasting.
The second concern expressed dealt with the electronics. WMFL
finds that this item is the one that usually drags on the project
and asked that Kiewit Conr, truction be thinking of that so it can
be finished on schedule with this project.
Tim White, WMFL, questioned shop drawings. It was decided that
eight (8) copies of shop submittals be required from all
contractors. These are to all be sent to Mel Calender first and
he will ship them out all at one time. Jerry Swan indicated the
specifications call for four copies, but eight copies are needed
to fulfill all needs (one copy for the general contractor, one
copy for the architect, one copy for the consultant, one copy for
the City of Everett, two copies for Snohomish County, and the
contractors need two approved copies returned to them).
Discussion was held on whether the prints need to be SEPIA or
not. It was decided that for all structural elements,
electronics, and security packages, one SEPIA will be submitted,
plus three blue -line prints, and it will be returned with
corrections.
It was clarified that Tora/Universal will be installing the
security, a joint -venture with Universal. It was questioned as
to who will be doing the electronics and Jerry Swan could not
respond to that at this time.
Gordon Ruehl, WMFL, stated that their firm is in general the
interpreter of the documents and will be on site for observations
on a two -week cycle. The day to day effort will be done by the
County staff, Harry and Mel but WMFL is anxious to be on -top of
