Box 1482 <br />Spokane, I4A 99210 <br />Reference: Snohomish County Detention Facilities <br />Dear Tim: <br />lie have received the letter dated January 10, 1984 from Mr. Frank Natsuhara <br />of ICBO to Mr. Larry Callahan of the City of Everett. <br />We have reviewed the comments and are writing in response to the items men- <br />tioned in the letter. <br />CIrD• 1. The elevator pit door will comply to the 1-1/2 hour fire rating. <br />vlv 2. A fire damper will be provided for the duct at the penetration of the <br />wall. The door will not be an undercut door. A ceiling grille and an <br />opening at the wall above the ceiling will be provided. Opening at the <br />wall will be protected by a fire damper. <br />UP 3 <br />V�,4 <br />This item will be complied with. <br />This item will be complied with. <br />According to NFPA 96, Section 3-2.9.3 each duct system shall serve only <br />exhaust hoods on one floor. See attached copy. The range hoods for <br />the ductwork systems are all in the kitchen on Level 6.1. We believe <br />that the kitchen hood exhaust systems comply with the code requirements. <br />NFPA 90A deals with fire damper requirements at floor penetration. <br />See attached copies of Section 3-3.4 and Figure 3-3.4. The ducts that <br />pass through the floors are in the mezzanine areas and do not pass <br />through floors at level.
