Wood stud walls and beazing paztitions shall not support more than two floors and a <br /> roof unless an analysis shows that shrinkage of the wood framing will not have <br /> adverse effects on the sttuctuie or any plumbing, electrical or mechanical systems, or <br /> other equipment installed therein due to excessive shrinkage or differeadal <br /> movements caused by shrinkage. The analysis �hould also s6ow thst the roof <br /> drainage system and the forgoing systems or equipment will not be adversely affected <br /> or, as an altemative, such systems shall be designed to accommalate the differendal <br /> shrinkage or movements. Secdon 2318 <br /> 3. The design svess of all combustible studs and fire-retardant treated exterior studs <br /> shall be reduced to 78 percent of allowable F'c with the maximum F'c not greater <br /> than 78 percent of the calculated stress for studs having a slendemess ratio ldd of 33 <br /> (which ever is least) for members used in the franting of fire-nesistive walls per Table <br /> 7-b, Foomote 19. Note that this applies to assemblies from the UBC and Gypsum <br /> Assceiation. The design load per square inch of cross secdonal azea for any wood <br /> stud shall not exceed 385 psi for assemblies based on the UL Firo Resistance <br /> Diactory. <br /> 4. The listing, complete lay-up and assembly of all fi�-resistive assemblies should be <br /> shown with the accompanying conswcdnn details. <br /> 5. Type III 1-hr buildings require a minimum of one-hour floodceiling assemblies. <br /> Details and listings should be provided. Repott No. NER-200 provides firo-resistive <br /> assemblies for tt�e TJI's shown for the floor joist system. Note that many acsemblies <br /> are specific to t6e type and series of TJI, and not intemhangeabie as such. Secdons <br /> 601.1 and 310.2.2 <br /> 6. Details of the minimum one-hour roof and roof-ceiling assemblies should be <br /> provided. 3ection 601.1 <br /> 7. The two-hour fire-resistive(or other rated),noncombustible exterior wall construcdon <br /> shall be continued through the floodceiling assembiies. Details �hould be provided. <br /> Section 6043.1 <br /> 8. All walls shown in plan should be specifically referenced to the appropriate wall <br /> construction detail. <br /> 9. Wall type GA WP 3370 shown in Detail 7/A7•3 should be roted to have horizontal <br /> bracing at mid height per the listing. <br /> 10. Detail 7/A7.3 notes that !he sir spac:e between unit pazty walls is to be increased as <br /> required to position plumbing stacks within framing at plumbing walls. As this may <br /> not be possible to do aher the wall is built, the required space for plumbing should be <br /> detailed before such walls are in place.
