22.The plans should show that fire blocks shall bc provided in accordance with Section <br /> 708.2 in the following locations: <br /> a). In concealed spaces of stud walls and partitions, including furred spaces, at the <br /> ceiling and floor levels, and at 10-foot intervals along the length of the wall. <br /> b). At all interconnections between concealed vertical and horizontal spaces such as <br /> occur at soffits,drop^.eilings and cove ceilings. <br /> c). In concealed spaces between stair stringers at the top and bottom of the nm and <br /> betwcen studs along and in line with the tun of staits if the walls under the stairs are <br /> unfinished. <br /> d). In openings around vents, pipes,ducts,chimneys, fireplaces and similar openings <br /> which afford a passage for fire at ceiling and floor levels, with noncombustiblo <br /> materials. <br /> e). At openings between attic spaces and chimney chases for factory-built chimneys. <br /> 23.The public toilet room should have the wal(s within 2 feet of the water closets <br /> finished to a height of 4 feet with a smooth, hazd, non-absorbent surface. Section <br /> 807.1.2 <br /> 24. A weather resistive bazrier per Secdon 1402.1 should be shown for all ezterior <br /> locations(walls and roo�. <br /> 25.T'he GWB proposed for the outer layer of exterior fire-resisdve assemblies should be <br /> specified as Gypsum Sheathing. Secdon 2511.1 <br /> 26. Balconies, landings, courts, occupied roofs and similar surfaces exposed to the <br /> weather and sealed underneath should be waterproofed and sloped a minimum of 1/4" <br /> per foot, or ponding calculations should be submitted. Details of consttuction are <br /> required. Sections 1506.1 & 1605.6 <br /> 27.Drains and overflow drains for the roof and courts should be detailed and provided <br /> where required in accordance with secdon 1506. <br /> 28. A minimum of a Class B roof classification should be shown. Section 1503 <br /> 29. An attic access opening (minimum 22 inches by 30 inches)s}►ould be provided with a <br /> minimum cleaz headroom of 30 inches for each attic space. The opening should be <br /> shown on the plans and be located in a hallway, corridor or other accessible location. <br /> Note that a rated hatch will be required to penetrate the protective ceiling membrane. <br /> Section 1505.1 <br /> 12 <br />
