September 23, 1998 <br />Councilmember Gipson questioned when the interest would begin to accrue on <br />the assessment. <br />Laura Van Slyck stated that the interest would begin upon the date of fling. <br />Councilmember Simpson questioned whether Code Enforcement had done <br />everything possible to avoid this action. <br />Laura stated that they had. <br />Roll was called with all councilmembers voting yes. <br />Motion carried. <br />LUTION — DEMOLITION/3229A AND 3229B WETMO <br />Moved by Councilmember Pope, seconded by Coundlmember Warnock to <br />adopt Resolution No. 4660 authorizing the demolition and clearing of the <br />buildings located at 3229A and 3229E Wetmore Avenue. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Everett Building Official has found the buildings <br />located at 3229A and 3229B Wetmore Avenue to be substandard and a public <br />nuisance pursuant to the City of Everett Uniform Housing Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Everett Building Official has found the buildings <br />located at 3229A and 3229B Wetmore Avenue to be dangerous to the health, <br />safety, and welfare of the public pursuant to the City of Everett Uniform Code <br />fcr the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Official issued and <br />properly served Notices and Orders requiring the owners of the property to <br />repair or demolish and remove the buildings from the property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that permits for the repair or demolition of <br />the buildings have not been secured as required in the Orders; and <br />478 <br />
