The Mukilteo School District is experiencing rapid growth as a result of <br /> growth in the Snohomish County ar.ea. As a result of this rapid growth, <br /> [he school district must provide facilities for expanded schaol <br /> population and also provide alternative educational opportunities. <br /> There is a necd for alternative educational opportunities in the City of <br /> Everett. <br /> 10. The Applicant's representative indicated that '.he sub�ect property is <br /> not a desirable site Eor the permanen[ alternati.ve high school facility <br /> and that the site of the subject property will be interim use. The <br /> Applicant indicated tliat failure of school levy bonds has temporarily <br /> delayed the location and construction of the permanent site. In the <br /> near future, the voters of the Muki:Lteo School District will be <br /> presented with ao opportunity to vote on the bond �ich will finance the <br /> project. <br /> 11, The access to [he site will be off tiolly Drive and onto 98th StrePt. <br /> The direct access to the site will include access through the Challenger <br /> elementary School area to the site. Flolly Drive is not improved to City <br /> standards and the City indicated that such improvements are needed for <br /> the development. <br /> 12. The City indicated tha[ curbs, gutters, and sidevalks are needed on <br /> ilolly Drive but only streec improvements are needed on 98th Street. <br /> There could be no construction in the area of [he existing wetlands. <br /> 13. Utilities are available to serve the site. <br /> ?S. The proposed project will generate approximately 156 vehicular trips per <br /> aay on Holly Drive. Holly Drive is of adequate size to handle the <br /> increased traffic. llolly Drive is an arterial street. <br />
