We underscand that McDowell believes that pin <br />piles can be placed aro�nd the perimeter of the building. <br />We understand that you now plan to construct a wood joist floor over the existing basement slab. <br />This wood joist floor would be settle along with the existing s1ab. The slab will be allowed G. <br />settle independently of the house structure. This maY ='e4uire isolation of the slab from the <br />house sm►cture, or other remedy. <br />We understand that you plan to engage a struch�ral engineer to provide foundation reinforcema�t <br />details for this projxt. We recommend that you use KPFF Engineers or another Wathit�econ <br />` licenscd sWctutai engineer with extensive experiena in construcdon practirxs in this atueaa. <br />4.0 SITE CONDTfIONS <br />The house is locateG on the west side of Sound Avenne, approximately one-half (1/2) mile south <br />from the shore of Puget Sound.
