August 21, 2013 <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council members echoed the Mayor's comments regarding the success of <br /> various events held in Everett over the weekend and congratulated Ashley <br /> Barguest for her contributions. <br /> Council Member Murphy provided a liaison update on the Public Facilities <br /> District monthly board meeting held today. He also announced the recent <br /> appointment of Assistant General Manager Rick Comeau. <br /> President Moore announced the upcoming Everett Firefighter Combat <br /> Challenge, which will be held at the Port of Everett starting at 4:00 p.m. on <br /> Friday, August 23rd, and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24th. Council <br /> Member Moore also reported on the Learning for Life: 21st Century Skills <br /> Symposium sponsored by the Everett Public Schools on August 21 <br /> and 22 and thanked Mayor Stephanson for his participation. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Deputy City Attorney David Hall had no comments. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Steve Creed, Monroe, announced the Snohomish County Remembers <br /> March on Washington 1963-2013 celebration at Everett Community <br /> College Jackson Auditorium on August 28, 2013, 6-7:30 p.m. <br /> Gail Chism, Everett, spoke in honor of Theresa Goffredo, a well-respected <br /> Herald journalist who passed away on August 18, 2013. Gail thanked <br /> John Peterson, City Parks Department, for assisting with the coordination <br /> of the Lowell Days celebration. She also thanked Jackie Minchew and <br /> others for their leadership in organizing Lowell Days events. <br /> 226 <br />
