Brand Name of the Material, <br /> 5 <br /> 6 2. Manufacturer, <br /> 7 <br /> 8 3. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Registration Number, <br /> 9 <br /> 10 4. Material Safety Data Sheet, and <br /> 11 <br /> 12 5. Proposed Rate of Application. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 5-04.3(4)C Pavement Repair <br /> 15 Excavate pavement repair areas and backfill these with HMA in accordance <br /> 16 with the details shown in the Plans and as staked. Conduct the excavationIl <br /> 17 operations in a manner that will protect the pavement that is to remain. Repair <br /> 18 pavement not designated to be removed that is damaged as a result of the <br /> 19 Contractor's operations to the satisfaction of the Engineer at no cost to the <br /> 20 Contracting Agency. Excavate only within one lane at a time unless approved <br /> 21 otherwise by the Engineer. Do not excavate more area than can be completely <br /> 22 backfilled and compacted during the same shift. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Unless otherwise shown in the Plans or determined by the Engineer, excavate <br /> 25 to a depth of 1.0 feet. The Engineer will make the final determination of the <br /> 26 excavation depth required. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 The minimum width of any pavement repair area shall be 40 inches unless <br /> 29 shown otherwise in the Plans. Before any excavation, sawcut the perimeter of <br /> 30 the pavement area to be removed unless the pavement in the pavement repair <br /> 31 area is to be removed by a pavement grinder. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Excavated materials shall be the property of the Contractor and shall be <br /> 34 disposed of in a Contractor-provided site off the Right of Way or used in <br /> 35 accordance with Sections 2-02.3(3) or 9-03.21. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Apply a heavy application of tack coat to all surfaces of existing pavement in <br /> 38 the pavement repair area, in accordance with Section 5-04.3(4). <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Place the HMA backfill in lifts not to exceed 0.35-foot compacted depth. <br /> 41 Thoroughly compact each lift by a mechanical tamper or a roller. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 5-04.3(5) Producing/Stockpiling Aggregates, RAP, & RAS <br /> 44 Produce aggregate in compliance with Section 3-01. Comply with Section 3-02 1 <br /> 45 for preparing stockpile sites, stockpiling, and removing from stockpile each of <br /> 46 the following: aggregates, RAP, and RAS. Provide sufficient storage space for <br /> 47 each size of aggregate, RAP and RAS. Fine aggregate or RAP may be <br /> 48 uniformly blended with the RAS as a method of preventing the agglomeration <br /> 49 of RAS particles. Remove the aggregates, RAP and RAS from stockpile(s) in a <br /> 50 manner that ensures minimal segregation when being moved to the HMA plant <br /> 51 for processing into the final mixture.
