8 <br /> 3. Merchandising (Pro Shop) <br /> a. Maintain a well-stocked and attractively displayed pro shop. The <br /> Contractor shall sell, rent, and supply golf goods, clothing, merchandise <br /> and golf equipment, which shall be of good quality, selection and <br /> adequately meet the reasonable expectations of the golfing public at each <br /> course. <br /> b. After written notice to the Contractor, the City shall have the right to <br /> prohibit the sale and rental of any item of merchandise on finding that the <br /> item(s) is of such inferior quality as to not be in the public interest to be <br /> offered for sale or that such item(s) is not necessary or desirable for proper <br /> service to the public. <br /> c. The Contractor shall provide to Parks an inventory management plan and <br /> monthly reports thereafter, the objective of which is to keep shrinkage of <br /> merchandise to less than one (1) percent. If the City deems the <br /> merchandise shrinkage rate to be unacceptable, the City and Contractor <br /> shall discuss the situation. The City may require the Contractor to develop <br /> and implement an action plan to reduce merchandise shrinkage. <br /> 4. Player Development <br /> a. The Contractor shall develop, promote and increase player participation at <br /> the courses with programs that serve golfers of all skill levels, ages and <br /> background. <br /> b. The Contractor will provide a year-round instructional program for <br /> families, senior citizens, adults and juniors. <br /> c. The Contractor is responsible for optimizing revenue opportunities <br /> throughout the year by providing golf programs to multiple target <br /> segments. <br /> d. The Contractor is responsible for promotion of Parks' Junior Club <br /> Program (aka Joe Richer Junior Club), promotion and management of the <br /> Joe Richer Junior Club Golf Tournament and working with Program <br /> Board members. <br /> 5. Tournaments and Leagues <br /> a. The Contractor will solicit, promote and schedule an optimum number of <br /> tournaments, outings and league play that help to increase course <br /> utilization and revenue while balancing group play against the demand for <br /> golf by other customers by hour, day, week and season. <br /> 9y <br /> 6 <br />
